The Anasazi Restaurant, Bar & Lounge is inspired by Santa Fe’s rich cultural and culinary history. Menus showcase contemporary American cuisine inspired by local ingredients. Partnering with local farms and purveyors that provide guests with fresh, seasonal produce throughout the year. Chef Andre told me that this was a key factor in ensuring Anasazi used only the best products available.

Traditional Southwestern ingredients serve as the foundation for the Anasazi Restaurant which includes strong regional influences that enrich the time-honored fare and celebrate Santa Fe’s vibrant communities. Find inspiration in Santa Fe’s rich culinary history, as well as in the fresh ingredients acquired locally. Respect and appreciation of local fare is truly embodied at the Anasazi restaurant. Chef Andre grew up near Heidelberg, Germany, eating hearty from-scratch meals prepared by his mother. On a family vacation to balmy Spain, when that heavy German food was still being served, he had his own epiphany about more seasonally appropriate food. The desire to showcase cuisines of the world that fit their setting put in motion his thoughts about a culinary career. He also understood that working as a chef would give him a way to travel the world. His first job offer outside of Germany was from a Rosewood hotel in Saudi Arabia. He jumped at it. After all, Rosewood is among the world’s most respected ultra-luxury hotel brands, each with a strong sense of place.

Most recently, Chef Andre held the position of Task Force Executive Chef at Rosewood Sand Hill in Menlo Park, California. Prior to this role, Andre held Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef positions at several hotels including Hotel Jerome: Auberge Resorts Collection, The Ben, Acqualina Resort & Residences, Mandarin Oriental Miami, and Levy Restaurants. Chef Andrew also brings with him additional past experience with the Rosewood brand, having served as Executive Sous Chef at two of the brand’s other properties, including Dallas’ beloved Rosewood Mansion on Turtle Creek and Virgin Gorda’s Rosewood Little Dix Bay.

He would eventually cross paths with Lutz Arnhold, Managing Director at Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi when both were at Mayakoba, the Mexican Riviera Maya resort. When Lutz had an opening for executive chef late last year, he sought out Andre, who was by that time working in Miami. Andre jumped at the chance to leave urban Miami behind and come to Santa Fe!

For breakfast I recommend the Santa Fe Buttermilk Pancakes and The Santa Fe Omelet. You also cannot go wrong with the Huevos Rancheros or the Chilaquiles Rojos O Verdes.

For lunch I love the Tortilla Soup and the Tomato and Burrata Salad. The Cobb Salad is sooo delicious too. The Anasazi Smash Burger is my favorite Green Chile burger in town too! It has a secret sauce that I cannot get enough of and it really balances the heat from the chiles quite nicely!! And who can resist home cut fries?! The Southwestern Fajitas are not to be missed either with chips, guac, and salsa!

Dinner is such a treat here and my favorites are The Tuna Poke with New Mexico Red Chile. The Seared Scallops are also perfection. The Bread Selection and The Tomato Salad are divine too for starters. For a delicious Entree, you cannot go wrong but I personally cannot stop dreaming about The Lemon Fettuccine, The Crispy Branzino, and The Beef Ribeye.

The culinary team's mastery is evident in their ability to harmoniously marry bold flavors and textures, resulting in a truly unforgettable dining experience. The experience is not only a treat for the taste buds but also a feast for the eyes, as every dish is beautifully crafted. These photos do not really even do them justice!

And EVERY dessert is worth trying! Pistachio Crème Brule, Orange Tres Lehes, Flourless Chocolate Cake, and the Carrot Cake ….perfection in every bite! The Carrot Cake is the most innovative if you really want to try something unexpected.

Their virgin margarita is a stellar choice too! But if you are a cocktail drinker….this is the place for a nice drink! Innovative and thoughtfully curated, the beverage menu offers an array of options to satisfy every palate. The attentive staff is always ready to recommend the perfect drink pairing, enhancing the overall flavors of the meal too so do not be shy in asking!

Rosewood Inn of the Anasazi offers guests a modern, sophisticated aesthetic, while still celebrating the enduring creative spirit of the region’s Native Americans. The guestroom design beautifully complements the Inn’s legendary décor and architecture, including works by local artisans, massive hand-carved doors, sculptured stairways and sandstone walls that whisper of prehistoric Pueblo living.

I will tell you all about my stay there soon too!
