Oscar Sunday Gathering Featuring West Elm

So much thanks to West Elm Tulsa for sponsoring this post.

Oscar Sunday is finally here and I couldn't be more excited!!!!!!! I love the glitz and glam so much! I am such a sucker for that red carpet fashion just as much as the award ceremony truth be told. So the votes have been cast, the red carpet has been delivered and the stars have been styled and it’s almost time to curl up on the couch in pj's and watch as the winners are announced. I also use this night as an excuse to break out the bubbly, candy, and good old fashioned buttery popcorn with a small group of friends. This year I decided to do some simple cheese and crackers too but you seriously cannot go wrong with any finger food. Excited to share some quick easy ideas so you can host your own little Oscar watch party Sunday night. Let's let the star-watching commence!

No Oscars party is complete without a proper ballot! Take your pick from the evening’s nominees and follow along as the winners are announced. I downloaded mine this year from Vanity Fair. I loved the simplicity of it. Grab yours here.

Oscar Bingo is so much fun too because it keeps things interactive and also gets people actually watching the awards. I typically have everyone who attends throw in some cash and then the winner of the Oscar Bingo and anyone who gets every single winner right from their ballot can take a little cash prize home! I used punchbowl.com for my Oscar Bingo this year. Grab it here. Just make sure everyone gets a different card so print accordingly.

No Oscars party is complete without a fun swag bag too. I found these adorable metallic gold star bags from my local dollar store and stuffed them with nail polish, a face mask, a lip gloss, a travel body cream, and of course the ballots and their Bingo card. I hand them out at the beginning of the night and the little beauty products are so fun to use during the show.

A glass of bubbly is the perfect way to toast the evening and you cannot go wrong with the Sofia Brut Rose served in 187ml cans! They are just so adorable with their little straws and with spring already making an appearance in Tulsa, rosé is just the way to go! Sofia Brut Rosé Minis offer the same seductive flavors as their classic Brut Rosé in a sassy single-serving can. Blended from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, Brut Rosé Minis bestow light effervescence and fragrant notes of fresh fruit, flowers and spice. It’s sparkling flavors pairs beautifully with food… and even better with Oscar parties, picnics, and sipping by the pool.

Have some other champagne on hand too! I used my gorgeous Bormioli Rocco Cassiopea Glassware from West Elm Tulsa. I adore these crinkle-cut Cassiopea glasses because they add texture and intrigue to my bar and table. The facets reflect light, lending a magical touch to meals and parties. These are so durable, highly resistant to breakage, chipping, and are (praise hands) dishwasher safe!! And these particular glasses are made in Italy.

It was such a delight working with West Elm Tulsa on some fun new table wear for me and I am so thrilled to pull it all out and use it for my Oscar gathering. All of this was such a big hit around the holiday too!!

A spray of confetti is essentially all it takes to make a party! You do not have to go overboard. So I kept it simple with these black stars that I found at my local dollar store. They just add a little something, right?!

Nibbles--It's going to be a long evening: the 2017 Oscars ceremony lasted 3 hours and 49 minutes, and that epic stretch of time doesn't even include the red carpet. Snacks and appetizers are essential.

I like to stick to goodies that you can find at the concession stand of your local movie theatre —popcorn and candy. This year I went with classics like Whoppers, Sweet Tarts, Sugar Babies, and Red Vines. Whether you’re throwing an Oscars party or just vegging out on the couch by yourself--make the night just like you are watching on the big screen.

I also decided to serve a delish and simple cheese tray too with a brie with some jam and a delightful blueberry goat cheese. I mean, cheese, popcorn, candy--what more does one need?!

And then order a few pizzas and everyone is going be so happy! Trust me.

I found the adorable popcorn holders at my local dollar store (two for a dollar actually) and decided to break out my fun dishes from West Elm Tulsa. I hate eating on a paper plate.

The West Elm Abstract Brushstroke Plates in Pink/Gold are just my fave. We just did a living room remodel and are on a blush kick so these are just exquisite. The painterly patterns are accented with real gold leafing that's treated for everyday use adding such glam touches to the table. And I just cannot get enough of their fun animal desert plates!! They also make the best chargers for your dinner table.

So just have fun with this Oscar night. If you want to just do paper plates, go ahead and do that! Keep things simple for yourself.

And then finally create lots of cozy corners in the living room where your guests will be viewing. Have lots of seating and again...a 3 to 4 hour event--people want to relax and stretch out. We usually end up on the floor with cozy pillows and blankets.

And I love mine from West Elm Tulsa. Few things are more inviting than their Mongolian Lamb Pillow Covers. Their soft texture cozies up sofas and chairs. And of course the Rosette color is everything right now.  West Elm's Lush Velvet Pillow Covers live up to their name with rich, saturated hues and lustrous sheen. Offering the look and feel of luxe silk velvet, but at a fraction of the cost, it's one of our favorite fabrics of the season. They have so many colors available but we love the dusty blush.

I think I might have a throw pillow addiction actually.

I just cannot wait to see who wins tomorrow night!! I live for the movies and this is the first year I love every single one nominated for Best Picture .
As much as I want Call Me By Your Name to win Best Picture I think it’s going to go to Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri .
I think Guillermo del Toro will take best director for The Shape of Water 💦💧 I think it’s Frances McDormand’s year and she will take best actress in a leading role and I do have my fingers crossed for Timothèe Chalamet but I think it could very much go to Gary Oldman . He was a perfect Winston Churchill .

What do you all think? What was your favorite movie this year and why?!! Tell me in the comments below and for more Oscar ideas, click here.  I love the straws. And of course you can go all out too. Check out my La La Land themed Oscar birthday bash  from last year. Those clouds were the dreamiest.
