I had a friend in town from Texas and I watched her lovely son Ben one afternoon and it was the perfect opportunity to bake something festive! I have so many favorite holiday desserts but I think this chocolate peppermint cake is the one I enjoy the most! Chocolate and peppermint are such a match made in heaven !
The secret to the cake is the icing made with Challenge Butter. Challenge Butter has been a quality staple in kitchens since 1911. It's churned daily from two natural ingredients: the freshest 100% real pasteurized sweet cream and salt. That's it. Nothing artificial or synthetic. The taste is pure, and the flavor is consistent ! I love love baking with it!
Rodge loves cherry pie for Thanksgiving! It remind him of his sweet momma! So I am sharing a lovely recipe today for a homemade sweet cherry pie recipe. We love pairing this pie with a delightful Bourbon Barrel-Aged Red Blend from Ironside Cellars. It has a lush texture, juicy dark fruit aromas, and a kiss of Bourbon-soaked oak! Iron Side Bourbon Barrel-Aged Red Blend showcases rich and tangy fruit flavor framed by barrel notes of smoke, toasted wood, vanilla, roasted coffee, and caramel and I am in love!
We all have a chef friend or loved one who believes cooking is one of life’s great pleasures. They see it as an expression of love, a therapeutic exercise, and a fun way to bond with friends and family. Whether they’re a hobbyist or a pro, I believe when choosing gifts for chefs, you can never go wrong with these items on my gift guide. I spend tons of time in the kitchen, so I know a thing or two about this! Plus your chef needs gorgeous decor to set the scene to help it all really come together. That's why I curated this list the way I did!!

A smoothie that tastes just like carrot cake with carrots, walnuts, dates, almond milk and an optional drop of vanilla. No bananas, no sugar and full of goodness! Plus it has pumpkin pie spices making it the perfect healthy AUTUMN treat!
Few things are as comforting as a hearty plate of cheesy pasta. It fills both the body and soul with joy—and if it’s a particularly delicious recipe, it can become embedded in your memory. And lasagna is warming, satisfying, and soothing. Lasagna is a way of life at my house really! We love Italian food! The cheesy goodness and the fact that it's all in one pan, the whole experience is all so heavenly. It's always seems like a warm pasta dish has a way of bringing people together too.

Read MoreI like to keep it easy when it comes to selecting tableware. I buy timeless pieces that I love that also sit well together and make it easy to mix and match. I generally let the occasion, company and the menu guide me when I set the table, but you can’t go wrong with The Pillivuyt Brasserie Dinnerware Collection, especially when you love throwing French dinner parties!
It is one of Pillivuyt's most recognized patterns. Created in the 1920's for restaurants and cafes' who wished to have their menus on their dinnerware, this design is printed on a decal and then applied by hand. After the decal is applied, the piece is fired for a third time and the design is baked into the glaze.
The Brasserie collection of dinnerware and cookware by Pillvuyt features sidewalk cafes, Parisian nights, and hints of Hemingway's Moveable Feast.

Ready? Go!
Please tell me you did it! I am imagining y’all staring at the screen and practicing your best Gérard Depardieu impersonation.
Today is the official first day of fall and I am celebrating with this divine, comforting Boeuf Bourguignon, or Beef Burgundy in English, which is one of my fave dishes ever and the perfect dinner for this season . (sharing the recipe at the end of this post) If you’ve never heard of it before, it is pretty much a beef stew made with red wine, mushrooms and pearl onions that was given a big fancy French name!

What I love about pasta is there are so many ways to make it and this warm weather pasta is just perfection! It’s so easy to put together too! Just toss slices of blanched asparagus and fresh Green peas with a tangle of cooked fettuccine with garlicky buttery flavor, shower with grated Parmesan and serve.
I absolutely love the Garlic Paste from Amore. It’s imported from Italy and it’s so easy to use with no waste; just squeeze out the amount needed, cap and refrigerate! It’s a mellow mixture of fresh garlic, sunflower and olive oils, and salt. It captures the fresh, intense garlic flavor you’d expect if you squeezed the cloves, but it’s fast, versatile and easy! And I love easy!
Read MoreNothing says fall is here quite like the arrival of crisp, sweet apples at the local market. I can’t resist filling up bag after bag from the bins overflowing with varieties I haven’t seen since last year’s debut. So, what better way to celebrate fall’s arrival, than with one of my fave apple tart recipes from NYT that celebrates its most-loved fruit?!!
Read MoreYesterday Rodge and I played cards and snacked and made the loveliest fall mocktail with Kentucky 74 from Spiritless. . Yes-a fall drink!! I am so done with summer! Complete and utterly done. 🤷🏻♀️
They sent me their Kentucky 74- a beautifully distilled non-alcoholic spirit crafted to complement bourbon cocktails. It delivers a high-quality, smooth finish, underpinned by familiar notes of caramel, vanilla, and oak. ( definitely not like other non-alcoholic spirits-not artificial.. it’s the real thing with a proprietary distillation process)
Happy Labor Day! I hope that everyone is taking time off from “laboring” at work!
Lin wanted a pie! I wanted a cup so I found the best of both worlds with these peach pie cupcakes. The recipe is from Butternut Bakery and it is simply divine. The cinnamon cupcake batter screams “ FALL IS COMING” while the fresh peaches are saying” Hey, slow your roll- summer produce is still in style for a bit” HA!
Read MoreI definitely wouldn’t tout myself as a wine expert, but I’m quite familiar with different types of wines and brands. And French wines are just the best in the world. I do know that!
I first introduced you to the somMailier Wine Club back in February (read all about it here) and I am so excited to share a promo code with you today (grab the code at the end of the post) and tell you about their white wines and their rosè this time.
I really enjoy being apart of a wine club because it’s such a great way to taste new wines and expand your knowledge. If you consider yourself a bit of a sommelier and would like to discover some new blends — your favorite red seems a bit too sweet nowadays — or maybe you’re just looking for a no-hassle way to up your reserves, a wine club may be for you. There are so many things to consider especially as we approach the holiday entertaining season! It’s truly my favorite time of year but hosting a dinner party is difficult enough. Between entertaining guests and preparing food, picking a wine pairing can be an intimidating process.
