Spring Texas Getaway Continued.
I love a leisurely morning especially while on holiday. So yesterday morning was the perfect speed for what I needed. My fox and I took a tour of the beautiful South Congress Hotel in natural light. We had checked in so late the night before and had to quickly get unpacked and jet. I love everything about the place especially since we share the same love for brass elements, greenery, great lighting, and hints of plaid. And that rooftop pool overlooking Congress...sign me up for poolside cocktails all day please !!! (I seriously need to work on my tan. These pale stems are blinding)
It's time for coffee and breakfast and I have been reading all about the all-day operation Cafe No Se. The California inspired menu with dishes like sticky lamb ribs and chocolate peanut butter nutter flan tart with yellow curry intrigue me. The breakfast menu was not as grand as they kept that part of it pretty simple but hey I am a sucker for a good avocado toast and a bagel board! They also serve Cuvee Coffee and I got addicted to this coffee in Dallas as Oddfellows serves and sells it!!!! The space is beautiful.........and I can definitely spend some time here writing and people watching. They also have a this beautiful blue Lamarzocco that I am going to need to take with me when I leave .
Being a coffee lover and dating an equally addicted to coffee fox....We are in need of more caffeine so it's the perfect opportunity to check out Manana. The iced lattes are delicious and I am eager to try their juice and snacks !!
We then head to the Moto GP. We could not have gotten any luckier with the weather. And we were so prepared this year with a blanket, chairs, sunscreen and binoculars ! (I even brought sandals vs boots) last year we had zero clue what we were doing !!! Friday races are incredibly laid pack. It's mainly a practice day for the riders so they can get their bikes perfect for the upcoming weekend races with the big one being on Sunday. Andrea Dovizioso (my favorite) did not have a strong practice sesh yesterday placing 9th . Yes I said 9th . This makes me incredibly nervous so hoping for better results today at The Cota ! Vroom. Vroom. Pretty sure Lin wants to buy a vintage BMW bike too.
After the races we stop over at the coolest little Moto shop in our hotel...South Congress Revival . They build cycles and have the greatest retail available. I have my eye on some cognac riding gloves and a bright blue Vintage inspired Hedon Helmet. I am making my Nice List for Santa early because I cannot get these pieces out of my mind. And plus all I am going to be doing is riding motorcycles in Europe so I am going to really need to elevate my moto fashion !
After all that shopping we worked up a thirst and our hotel hosts a happy hour with half price drinks and apps so you don't have to twist our arms. The margaritas were delicious....too delicious actually because we had four. French Fries were ordered and the night ended at C-Boy's Heart and Soul with live music and shenanigans. And The Lonestar Roundup is in town so I spy Hot Rods all around me!!!
Pretty sure a late night taco was involved but it's all a blur really. I do love that you are on Congress Torchy's because I love you!
HEY. I am on Vacation!
Shop the story here including those super comfy inexpensive gladiator sandals ! Loving them !
