Rose District//American Hatfield//Valentine's Day Gift Guide
Happy February 1st loves! I hope you all enjoyed my newsletter that hit inbox's this morning to subscribers. Did you just adore those photography tips and tricks for upping your insta game or what?! Valentine's day is on the brain and I have lots to share with you about my current hometown.
Why did I wait so long to visit the charming Rose District in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma?! I seriously have been missing out in a major way. I love this little historic entertainment district with over 70 places to eat, shop, and do. Travelers nicknamed Broken Arrow the "City of Roses" when early civic leaders called on residents to beautify the original landscape of the sparse prairie land with bushes, trees, and flowers. Today, civic leaders are transforming the landscape by reviving the adorable little historic downtown area to breathe new life into the heart of BA and return it to a gathering place for all residents.
Lin and I have decided to try new places whenever possible. So Saturday morning we hopped in the car and headed out to Broken Arrow. And you loves..I am seriously impressed. It's the most adorable little downtown street. It reminded me of some of the cute little towns we discovered in Colorado during our moto tour last fall.
I am predicting many weekend hangs here experiencing all that it has to offer!
But so far I can tell you to have a weekend brunch at TOAST. I loved the vibe of the whole place. Lin personally loves breakfast and while it is not my favorite thing, it's nice to go somewhere that serves both on Saturdays after 11. Usually the menu shifts so we were thrilled that he could get his biscuits and gravy and eggs and I could get a sandwich and some soup. The skinny Bellini's are delightful too.
Have lunch or dinner at Main Street Tavern. We had a great burger there the other day. The vibe was fantastic. And the service was my favorite part about my whole experience. They have live jazz and do some happy hour specials. Excited to go for a jazz night soon. How fun would that be for a date night?
With Valentine's Day soon approaching I do recommend a stop into Nouveau Atelier De Chocolat. You can watch them make the chocolates behind the glass window which is such a special touch. Wonderful Belgian Callebaut chocolate hand dipped by a wonderfully warm and knowledgeable Chocolatier in an "Old World" shop. This really was an unexpected treasure to have in Oklahoma. We had a selection of things to try and I really hope I get some for Valentine's Day. They were busy taking orders so don't delay. Your sweetie is going to love these!
And serious drum roll please!!! Ladies I found us an amazing shop for those handsome adventurous gents in our lives. And men....you can thank me later!
American Hatfield is the place you go to embark on an adventure. There are so many fantastic outdoor and quality-made American goods here. Kyle Hatfield has curated such a wonderful collection through his own travels. You can see that he is inspired by nature. This place ignited my five senses and the funnest part was seeing Lin really get excited about shopping. He roamed the whole space really experiencing everything. I adore that you can support local artists here too by picking up new and homemade gifts and folk art. I personally loved the vintage fishing baskets and variety of "outdoorsy" coffee table books. The vintage maps and postcards were also so fun to go through. We spent hours here just taking it all in. Have a look for yourself viewing the slideshow...
Their motto...EXPLORE.DISCOVER. LIVE.
And I could not agree more. Seriously check them out! Perfect perfect Valentine's Day gifts for those men in our lives.
I have picked a few favorites for you too that Lin swears any man would just love. He already got his Valentine's! Do not forget your furry friends either!
Now what are you waiting for? Local loves...head to The Rose District now and non local loves....head to the web!
