A Tale Of Two Stylish Besties// Q & A With Baubles & Backdrops

I think it would have to be the coolest thing to be blogging with your bestie. Baubles & Backdrops happens to be my favorite blogging duo. I am always picking up some amazing styling tips from these two and am so incredibly honored to feature them on Go French Yourself!

(Sharing my fave pics of them in looks I just simply must have throughout the post)

INTERVIEW WITH BAUBLES AND BACKDROPS:

-Always lovin’ your looks, what are you cuties wearing today?

Tiffany:  Today, I am wearing my new gingham peplum top from the Victoria Beckham for Target line. It was only $30 and is absolutely adorable. I’ve paired the top with my white jeans and nude espadrille wedges.

Lindsey:  The weather was perfection here in Raleigh today so I'm wearing a bohemian style floral top and distressed denim jeans.  I threw on my trusty Jeffrey Campbell Taggart boots to complete the look!

-How would you both describe your styles?

Tiffany:  I would say my style is feminine, simple and comfortable.

Lindsey:  I always struggle with this question because my style changes depending on how I feel each day.  The best way to describe my usual style is probably feminine with an edge.

-Are There Any Trends You’re Currently Obsessed With, Or That You See Making A Major Comeback?

Tiffany:  Can we please get a hallelujah for mules this spring?  I’m obsessed with my new BP Maddy Mules in blush pink.  The knotted bow makes my heart pitter patter.

Lindsey:  I'm not a huge trend follower but am stoked that sneakers are so popular.  It's hard to resist a great pair of kicks and there are crazy amounts of cool options out currently!

-How Did You Guys Meet And How Would You Describe Your Friendship?

We actually tell our story on our About Us page; we think we have a pretty unique journey and there is a purpose that our paths crossed 7 years ago.  Sometimes things fall into place very easily and you don’t know why until later; there would be a huge void in each of lives without the other. You can find the story here

-What did you to pack for your West Coast adventures this Spring?

Tiffany:  I honestly don't remember what I packed, but my goal is to always pack comfortable clothes.  Unless I have a wedding or formal event to go to, you won't find stilettos in my suitcase.  Sure, I will back a good wedge or block heel sandal, but that's the extent of my dressier shoes.

Lindsey:  What did I pack?  All the wrong clothes.  I goofed big-time.  My trip was two weeks long and while the weather called for cooler weather initially, I assumed it would warm up.  It was cold and rainy the entire time.  I ended up running out and buying a massive oversized scarf by Rag & Bone and a beautiful blush open-front Vince sweater that was kindly waiting for me on the clearance rack at Nordstrom.

-What are your stories? (Tell me about you..how long have you been blogging, etc)

Tiffany:  I work in Corporate America but the blog is my creative outlet.  I always claim that I am both right-brained and left-brained.  I love logic and analytics things, but also yearn for outlets which allow me to be creative.  It's nice to have the balance of both with my job and the blog.

Lindsey:  Prior to becoming a Stay-at-Home-Mom, I worked with children on the Austism spectrum for over a decade.  I provided developmental therapy and absolutely LOVED my career, the kids and the  amazing families.  Leaving that behind was difficult but I couldn't wait to settle into my new role as Mama.  To second Tiffany's sentiments, the blog came about because we were born yearning for a creative outlet.  Working together on the blog for the last few years has been so incredibly special and I wouldn't want to continue without her by my side!

-What are your morning beauty routines like? Any products you can’t live without?

Tiffany:  I start by washing my face then applying Mario Badescu Cellufirm Drops followed by a moisturizer (I change it up depending on what I have).  The Mario Badescu Cellufirm Drops are life changing!!!  I first tried a sample I received in my BirchBox and could instantly tell a difference in my skin.  As soon as my sample ran out, I purchased my first bottle an have had multiple since then.  The brand is actually celebrating their 50th year and I understand why; their products are amazing and the prices are so affordable.

Lindsey:  I begin with using my Clarisonic to exfoliate.  The cleanser I use with that is by Beautycounter.  Next up, begins my Rodan + Fields Reverse line regimen.  These products have done wonders for my sun damaged skin!  (Not a consultant...just VERY thankful for this line.). Following that, I dab La Mer's Eye Balm Intense under my eyes and then apply Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturizing Cream all over my face.  Styling my hair comes next so that the moisturizer has time to sink into my skin a bit to  prevent my (Ester Lauder Double Wear) foundation from sliding off.

-What song or album do you have on repeat right now?

Tiffany: I'm obsessed with Ed Sheeran right now. His new song Shape of your body is on repeat!

Lindsey:  Currently fixated with The Weeknd's "I Feel it Coming".  I also love finding new versions of songs while watching The Voice.  Hunter Plake and Jack Cassidy's version of "Dancing on My Own" was downloaded before they even finished performing.

-What advice would you give to an up-and-coming blogger?

BE PATIENT.  Becoming a successful blogger doesn't happen over night. It's a journey and there will be road blocks and hiccups along the way, but just keep going.  You will eventually start seeing the rewards.  Also, make sure you love your content and, perhaps most importantly, remain authentic.

-Your photos are amazing! How do you both shoot and edit them?

We shoot each other's photos and typically use Lindsey's camera.  We both use Ligthroom to edit.  We haven't created a preset of our own yet, but we try to do very minimal editing to ensure we are portraying reality. We both love photography so that is another reason why we originally were drawn to the idea of starting a blog.

Keep up with these babes here...
