Currently In My Hair

I get so many questions about my hair….seriously! My hair posts are my most read blogs STILL to this day. You all are VERY interested in these locks.

This is the first time in a super long time I have not had extensions and if I am honest, there are days I wonder what organs I can sell to get them back in. They are truly such an expense and truly so time consuming though so I am focusing on the positives—more money in my account and more time in my life .

I have been taking these amazing supplements for almost two months though and I am so thrilled. I had to lose 4 inches recently and it was traumatic. My good friend suggested these and I have already gained almost two inches in less than 2 months and the good news is my hair is not breaking off anymore. It is stronger and looks the best it ever has. So I truly recommend them. Your nails will grow super fast too….my nail technician could not believe how quickly my toenails were growing. LOL.

Anyway I realized I have not shared details on how I am currently taking care of my hair right now and the products I am using on it.

I have switched back to Davines products and am SO happy with them for several reasons. Of course in my profession, I love to try new things but also find myself wanting to stick with one brand because why fix something that in’t broken? I am really hoping Davines will sign a yearly contract with me so I am just putting that out there to the universe while I am at it. I just LOVE that their products are obtained with 100% clean energy. Zero impact, essential and recyclable packaging is such a major plus too.

I wash my hair every other day with a very simple, mild shampoo -VOLU. I can typically go about 4 days without washing in the fall and winter seasons but this humidity right now is something else. My scalp is getting very oily and I might veen start washing everyday. (another perk of not having extensions this summer-I could not possibly even fathom washing and drying and styling those everyday) VOLU is a volumizing shampoo for fine or limp hair. It gently cleanses the hair making it soft and light with a lasting boost of body and volume. The Caprauna turnip extract in VOLU was harvested from the farm of Mrs. Donatella Ferrais in Caprauna, Cuneo, Italy as part of Slow Food Presidia. Turnips are great sources of phosphorus, iron, calcium and vitamins A, B and C.

I also alternate VOLU and REPLUMPING Shampoo. I really love the packaging of this and I strive to have my bathroom filled with nothing but beautiful products! VOLU is beautiful too in it’s own way but The Naturaltech Line from Davines is just soooo easy on the eyes. The creamy texture of this poo creates a full-bodied foam that cleanses gently without changing the hair structure. The formula gives elasticity, hydration and protects the hair during cleansing. My hair appears thicker, fuller and is protected from breakage. It smells like heaven too!! a but musky and sensual. Oui.

As far as conditioner- I love the REPLUMPING Conditioner in the fall and winter. It is a great detangler and gives renewed elasticity to the hair. The selected active ingredients moisturize and protect the hair structure. But in the summer I find it too heavy! So I am using DEDE Hair Mist. It’s a lovely light leave-on spray formulated to untangle fine hair making it so easy to comb and styling. It moisturizes and remineralizes all types of hair without weighing it down. It is ideal for frequent use. Seriously I despise anything that weighs my hair down and this is incredibly light! You will not even feel it. It has an anti-frizz conditioning effect too. After shampooing I just apply 5-10 sprays to towel dried hair for detangling and then comb through and proceed with styling.

The red celery extract in DEDE was sourced from the farm of Mr. Doriano Pozzatello in Orbassano, Turin, Italy as a part of Slow Food Presidia. Full of mineral salts and high in water content, red celery is nourishing and cleansing. Such an incredible fun fact!

I also use the OI -All In One Milk once a week or when I take a blowdryer and curling iron to it (less and less in the summer) It’s a hydrating hair milk for reducing frizz. It softens, detangles, controls frizz and protects the hair from heat. Just apply 10-15 sprays to washed, towel-dried hair. Do not rinse, and proceed with styling. You can also apply the product as a moisturizing finish, vaporizing it directly on the hands and then distributing it evenly on the hair, if they are particularly dehydrated. It smells SOOOO good!!! It has Roucou oil that is full of beta-carotene and antioxidants; it strengthens hair and protects against the effects of aging and environmental damage.

When I style my hair I love this volumizing mousse. It adds airy volume to any type of hair. This Is A Volume-Boosting Mousse is creamy with a snow-like texture, perfect for giving your hair light and natural-looking body. The active ingredients in More Inside, called “factors,” are balanced to elevate styling function and help define the final result: from extra moisture, to extreme bounce and anti-flaking qualities.

That’s pretty much it! I do not really enjoy hair sprays or texturizing products.

I do love the Davines Hair Refresher though! It’s a cleansing dry shampoo spray to refresh and clean hair without using water. This is the perfect dry shampoo for volume as it absorbs excess oil, immediately giving body to the hair so that looks full and airy. After shaking well, spray the product to the dried hair from a distance of about 20cm in small amounts. Leave the product on for about 1 minute, then brush. To increase the hair volume, use a cold blow of air. With natural active ingredients like rice flour, Hair Refresher is highly absorbent and hydrating.

Voilà !

Let me know if you have any other questions about my hair and Davines products!! I use to be a Davines Rep and know the brand inside and out.
