Fall Couple's Retreat In Carlton Landing At The Verana Home

Every time I visit Carlton Landing, I enjoy it more and more. As a creature of habit, I do tend to visit a lot of the same places because I love them, but always add something new to my trip each time.

At the beginning of November (where did the month go?), I whisked my friends away to Carlton Landing for a fun couple’s weekend. I had never experienced fall in Carlton Landing and I kept hearing that it was actually the favorite season of many locals who live in CL full time! It was also Brooke and Eric’s 6 year anniversary so the weekend away was perfect timing for this fall couple’s retreat.

First things first..stop at the local liquor store to grab some wine and beer!! The other couple’s were in charge of food.

Let me tell you, the weekend away was such a refresher. It was so nice to disconnect and spend quality time with friends and with nature. It was definitely needed before we all get so busy with holiday hustle. I put down my phone and camera lots this trip and really tried to unplug, but that part is still super hard for me as I needed to show you picturesque Carlton Landing and our gorgeous vacation rental home that is coastal inspired! It sleeps 12 so it is the perfect size for a crew. We had 6 including me and still could have invited one other couple and felt like we were not in one another’s space.

We arrived on a Friday about 4:30 and got settled in! We enjoyed pizza from Mama Tig’s food truck and had a wonderful night having some drinks at The Meeting House. They even had a piano player. (You can catch some video’s over on my story hilights)

The first floor has a bright open floor plan where you can gather at the large kitchen island and breakfast bar. Enjoy eating on the family sized vintage dining table or lounge in the living room playing games or watching a movie. There is a conveniently located half bath just off the kitchen.
The first floor luxurious master suite has a bright, dreamy king size bed with large master bathroom and white barn style door. The master is equipped with its own HDTV to allow the comforts of your own home but the luxury feel of of a resort vacation home. And let's be honest, is there anything more satisfying than star-fishing in a bed so big that your fingers and toes don't reach the corners?

I don't think so!

As you travel up the stairs, you make it to the second floor landing with another gathering area complete with a couch that also doubles as a twin bed and sleeping area. This area is equipped with an HDTV and DVD/BlueRay player. The first bedroom is a bright nautical themed bedroom furnished with a queen sized bed and sitting area. This room has a beautiful view of the park. The third bedroom of this home is a coastal inspired bedroom that has a comfortable queen size bed. These bedrooms share a bathroom with marble counter top, double vanity sinks and a large tub/shower.

From the second floor landing, you will also see a large custom step ladder to give you safe access to every child’s dream style loft with five custom built in twin beds. This may be your child’s favorite space! Within walking distance, you have access to Bocci Ball park, the community pool, and the dock at lakeside. The Verana is the perfect vacation rental home for anyone. Enjoy true resort style living at Carlton Landing in this lakeside retreat.
This home also has its own gas grill/charcoal smoker combo! Eric grilled us steak one night. So it got put to good use.

It’s so lovely to have access to a kitchen ! Call us crazy, but we do like to cook even on vacation! (especially if Eric is the chef..he made us croissants and gravy Saturday morning and I am still craving those babies)

Here are some pics of the lovely Verana Home! Gina and her hubby have really decorated it so well and have made it so cozy! I love all the blankets and books provided. And just love the attention to detail. I love being surrounded by beautiful things!!

After breakfast on Saturday we had coffee and enjoyed the park right in our front yard! We then went hiking and came back to the house for some relaxation and football. The girls also took bikes to The Meeting House for a few things which are also available to use at The Verana Home. Brooke made a cheese tray and then we later enjoyed dinner, s’mores, with the fire pit provided to use, and played games! It was the most perfect day!
