Farewell to Summer with Wine and Jazz/Post Oak Lodge

Ah, summer lovin'.

Blue skies, sun kissed glows, and patio brunches....

Tulsa has had some fantastic days to take advantage of too...I mean, I don't know about you but I have been loving these milder summer days.

On Saturday evening I was so spoiled with a beautiful evening with friends, live jazz music, and strawberry and blackberry wine at The Post Oak Lodge Wine and Jazz Festival. It was just the type of event I had been desperate for too.

Boy am I so glad I peeled myself out of bed from an allergy attack.

So this is the 3rd year that the Postoak Lodge & Retreat has hosted the Wine & Jazz Festival. They had a full Labor Day weekend of events and I wish I would have done The Friday night jazz dinner and just booked a room for the holiday. We tried to make last minute reservations for The Sunday Champagne Brunch too...ummm hello my two fave words, but no such last minute luck. Boo! But Saturday was seriously the most fun I have had in Tulsa in a while.

My two girlfriends and I got gussied up and brought a blanket and spread out on the spacious meadow in the shade. The jazz was fantastic and and the wine and the food trucks were even more fantastic.

It’s no secret by now that all of us love to enjoy a glass of wine on a hot summer evening. And as women in our late 20s and early(ish) 30's...Okay I am almost 40.... we feel we’ve finally gotten to a point where our palettes can tell an average wine from a great wine. This means we want to know more about wine than just the alcohol percentage or if the art on the wine label is cool. So we absolutely loved meeting all the wine vendors there and actually tasting before buying. (PS: you can buy by the glass or purchase a chilled bottle)

Pecan Creek Winery ended up being my favorite. They had this strawberry wine that was so refreshing and delish. The blackberry wine was out of this world too.

We had some great Mexican street food too and don't even get me started with The Cake Smash  truck. Holy Moly....strawberry ice cream between two lemon pieces of cake topped with fruity pebbles.......

Cheers to a fun off the beaten path event and girlfriends!!!!  And flowy long dresses!!!! In love with my new Free People dress....
