Girls Night In -The Francophile Addition Featuring Agalima
Those of you who know me personally, know that I am not much for getting dolled up for a night around the town. UGH. Even in my 20s, so not my thing!! I would so much rather be enjoying the company of my best girls in the comfort of my own home, in a cozy dress (albeit with makeup), chatting and laughing, and enjoying cocktails, music, and Netflix!! And of course because I am fully embracing French culture—this post is all about giving you some ideas to host your very own girls night in for your fellow Francophiles. I have compiled a French TV show list, as well as a French playlist, anddd the most delish simple recipe for a lavender margarita!! This is the perfect summer cocktail for when you’re feeling french, but your Texas twang can’t quite be subdued!!! I am even sharing a little DIY for a lavender face and body scrub!!
Simple Lavender Margarita Recipe
This Lavender Margarita is light and refreshing and requires minimal ingredients. It’s a little bit of French, a little bit Tex-Mex: (be still my heart) Tequila, an organic margarita mix, and lavender might seem like an odd combination, but the tart citrus creates a natural counterpart to the floral sweetness of the lavender and a silver tequila brings it all together. Want to make this a mocktail? Swap the tequila with a generous pour of tonic or seltzer, for a lovely lavender limeade!
I love using a good Margarita mix because it’s super simple! And my fave margarita mix is from Agalima. It features single-pressed limes and Jalisco blue agave nectar will give your cocktails a refreshing, just-squeezed taste! Because of their dedication to pure, organic ingredients, Agalima Organic Margarita mix is made with nothing but the finest produce and only all-natural sweeteners! It’s only $14.99 too and we always have it on hand in our household! Purchase it here !
Ingredients:
Lavender Syrup – 2 T
Fresh or dried lavender blossoms
Silver Tequila – 1 Oz
Ice
Sprigs of Lavender for garnish
1 lime for the rim of the glasses so the salt sticks
Instructions
To Make Lavender Syrup:
In a small saucepan over medium heat, add sugar and water. Add the 1 T of lavender blossoms to the pan, and stir constantly until mixture comes to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and let mixture simmer. Keep stirring until sugar is completely dissolved. Remove pan from heat and let the syrup steep and cool. Strain mixture through strainer, to remove lavender, and pour into airtight container and refrigerate.
Directions:
Rim chilled glasses with lavender salt and set aside. I make my own lavender salt too! Measure out about 1 tablespoon of lavender and 1/2 cup of kosher or sea salt and grind them a together with spice grinder, coffee grinder, or mortar and pestle. Grinding everything together will release the oils of the lavender and rub everything on to the salt.
Add tequila and Agalima Margarita Mix to ice-filled shaker. Shake vigorously and strain into glasses. Top with lavender syrup and garnish with a sprig of lavender and serve.
