Halloween Decorating Ideas For A Modern Condo
We skipped over the fall decorating this year and went straight to Halloween home decor! Fall is my everything—the beginning of the holiday season where everything feels just a little bit more magical and joyous. This year I felt a desire to start decorating for Halloween earlier than usual, and went for it. Why not given the crazy year we’ve all endured?! Halloween makes me so ridiculously happy.
Plus the fact that I am a blogger too.. I wanted to decorate early to photograph, edit, post/publish weeks before anyone else is shopping for home decor to help you guys out too! And I am even now still running behind so I promise next year to have this Halloween guide out to you end September! So appreciative to those who reached out on Instagram though asking for links to shop! I am always willing to share those so slide into my D.M’s anytime.
I am putting up my Christmas decor November 1st so be on the lookout for that shopping guide as well…first time ever to do it so soon!
I started shopping so early this year and found some really great things!!! I have found a TON of great Halloween decorating ideas on Pinterest and products at Kirkland’s, Amazon, World Market, and Etsy! And of course I always get my pumpkins and gourds from Whole Foods Market!
I do love some spooky decor but I also love decor with a bit more of a sophisticated look too. I’ve gathered up some of these favorite pieces to share with you—both ones we have in our own home and some new pieces I’ve found!
1. Pumpkins on Display
Pumpkins and Gourds are an instant Halloween display! The range of colors they come in means there’s a look to suit any style. For something more elegant and understated, go with all white pumpkins; for a classic look, opt for all orange ones. I love to mix things up this year and had a lot of fun with the lighter green pumpkins! Whole Foods Market always has the best selection and I find they last the longest! The ones I have purchased from the pumpkin patches in the past rot out in just a week! (sad face) And I am looking for longevity here!
I also added a few Feather Crow/Raven Black Bird Figurines here that I found on Etsy! I bought both the 8 inch and 10 inch! And you can shop them with this link. They are such great quality and shipping was very fast on these!
Also added a stunning Skull with Raven Edgar Allan Poe Raven Nevermore Book Reading Crow Black Bird Gothic Print! This is also an Etsy find! I am such a fan of Poe so I just loved this. I need to get it framed and hope to get around to that soon.
2. Macabre Mantel Or Bar Cart
I so wish we had a mantel so I tend to treat my bar cart like one! I loved these Spooky Eyeball Orbs on Etsy. They're super lightweight and can be mixed in with any Halloween decorations. Each orb has an eye on the front and eye on the back. They are made from tyrofoam core in high-gloss finished plastic. (3 pcs. per set) Includes three different sizes ranging from 1 1/2" - 3 1/2". And these Vintage Halloween Labels were just the purchase from Etsy!I love these spooky apothecary stickers so much. I found some old jars and glasses and old liquor around the house using what I had to create my display. (the “vampire blood is just bitters) You can also personalize these but I just ordered the standard. Shipping did take a bit with these so you might want to expedite. The spider garland is also a nice finishing touch to this too! And you cannot forget the giant hairy spider. This one is 4.9ft and only 9.99 on Etsy. The spider legs come in collapse condition so you can bend them the way you want and they will hand onto anything too! And a letter board is also another fun option! And I love my Broomstick Cafe Halloween Tabletop Canvas Easel from Kirkland’s! I just think it’s so fun! (on mega sale now too)
3. Spooky-Chic Clooche
Encased within the confines of a cloche, anything feels rarefied! My specimen is a fun mummy skull from Etsy! I still want to add a mossy bed to this to give the display a terrarium feel but I also love it as is! A scary skull never looked so chic, right?! My beautiful dome is from Nordstjerne. The embellish dome adds a touch of exclusivity to every object placed inside it. Display a flower from your garden, or a treasured object to seal the memories of a joyous day, or let a mummy head rent it for the month of Halloween! LOL.
4. Bats
First of all, I are here to say that Halloween home décor can be so fun with such little effort with these incredible bats from Kirkland’s! I typically do not like glittery Halloween decor but these are an exception!
Set includes four (4) small bats and four (4) large bats
Large bats measure 6.54L in. each
Small bats measure 3.5L in. each
Crafted of plastic
Black with glitter finish
Come ready for wall mount
Care: Dust with a soft, dry cloth.
They are very good quality and make quite the impact. I used them all over the dining room and living room! I did not wall mount mine though! I did not want to cause damage to my walls! Twinkle branches are always going to add a fun spooky touch too! Mine are from World Market from last year though. I cannot locate them on line this year but take a peek at what they have available this year here.
5. Black and white is the new orange
It’s true!!! I am always a tad hesitant about being festive for Halloween because it doesn’t go with the color scheme in my home. So I love incorporating neutral colored decorations that will mesh beautifully! My glitter bats and this bat garland were perfect for my living room area! (the garland is from Amazon and available on Prime)
6. Modern Skulls
Certainty this list wouldn’t be complete without having skulls on the list. There is something about this timeless décor staple that I love in the spooky season. Add a festive skull to the top of a stack of coffee table books, incorporated on the mantle or shelf, or in a fun tablescape, you can’t go wrong! I cannot find my gold set from last year online anymore (from World Market) but here is a fun version from amazon! See it here.
7. HOCUS POCUS
Such a favorite movie and I know many o you love it too! So shop the Hocus Pocus Halloween Banner Garland here. This Hocus Pocus inspired banner is one of a kind! The stylized spooky font, the black chipboard, and the golden crescent moon all strung on your choice of either a bright lime green or purple satin ribbon, makes this a Halloween favorite. The words "Hocus Pocus" are separated by a golden crescent moon and the letters are stamped in bone white. The black chipboard squares give this banner a chalkboard look to it, which I love! The Halloween Book Decor-I Smell Children was also such a good find from Etsy!!! Inspired by the famous Sanderson sisters, one of their most famous lines. This is the perfect addition to your Halloween decorations, especially for major Hocus Pocus movie lovers! I also added these fun Anatomy Dishes to my display!
Happy decorating everyone!!!!!!
