Make a Statement With Redbubble//Back-To-School

(THIS POST IS IN COLLABORATION WITH REDBUBBLE . ALL OPINIONS ARE MY OWN)

While summer is definitely such a fun time time of year, there’s always a little excitement looking forward to the start of school and the changing of seasons – mostly because it’s an excuse to go shopping! At least that's what my teenage daughter says about the shopping part. And the way time is flying....the school year will be here before we know it!

I personally have an obsession for vintage and one-of-a kind pieces in my closet. It's been that way for as long as I can remember too. I always stood out in high school and was not afraid to push the envelope with fashion. I vividly remember this bright canary yellow polyester dress that was my fave and I wore it with knee-high combat boots. Grunge was huge then and Nirvana was on repeat. I also remember this amazing pair of floral platform wedges I wore with frayed jeans and a long boyfriend jacket with one of my step dad's ties. I still enjoy standing out today with textures and love dressing up.  And I am so thrilled to see Zoë following in my foot steps. She has really cultivated her own powerful and unique style. She has become infinitely coordinated in her approach to fashion and I have huge admiration for her sense of self-expression.

Fashion might arguably be one of the first steps toward our kids discovering who they are as separate and unique individuals.  When we step back and let them choose what resonates with them, we are sending out the message that we appreciate their individuality and respect their right of self-expression--something I wish my family would have realized with me. We all have the right to discover who we are at the end of the day.

I was so thrilled when Redbubble reached out and wanted to collaborate on their back to school campaign. Everything they do and stand for really resonate with Zoë and I. Redbubble begins with over 400,000 independent artists----global community of creatives making everyday products weirdly meaningful. Their uncommon designs are exactly that uniqueness we crave. The 400K independent artists are from 190 countries and there is nearly ten million artworks and designs to chose from. To date, Redbubble  has helped artists earn more than $44 million dollars. With my daughter being a young artist...it was so easy for me to fall in love with this brand.

Who wants to have the same t-shirt, dress, or computer bag as everyone else anyhow????

And while I’m not going back to school in the traditional sense like my girl.. I still have the need for lots of "back to school" things as it's my busiest time of year and full time writing is on the daily agenda.

So eager to show you the things I got for myself and the things that I got for Zoë! But shhhhh....they are surprises and will await her when she returns from summer camp in Tennessee.

The Cactus V2 tote bag  is going to be the perfect gem for Zoë as she is a huge cactus lover. I went with the 13' x 13' but it comes in two larger sizes. Selected design is printed on both sides. The artist is Uma and she is from India. Love the design on this tote bag, but want it on an I-phone case instead... No worries, this print is available in many various forms.  That’s one thing that I adore about Redbubble—you choose your fave design and then choose what you’d like it printed on!! There are so many various cacti options too.  Check them out here.

The Perceptive Dream studio pouch: This amazing pouch comes in two sizes. I went with the large...12.5" x 8.5". It's the perfect pouch for my cosmetics and has been the best travel companion. I just love this print too. It screams summer to me! The artist is also Uma from India. I clearly have a thing for her work. These studio pouches would also work nicely for your kiddo's school supplies!

The Candy Sky A-Line dress is for Zoë and she is going to freak! The artist goes by the name Cafelab and is located in Italy. Her work is so dreamy.

  • 100% Polyester woven dress fabric with silky handfeel

  • Print covers entire front and back panel

  • Loose swing shape for an easy, flowy fit

  • Sublimation transfer technique prints crisp, bold colours

  • Garment fully constructed and printed in the USA

Now these next few items are great for both Zoë and I. The Seldom Is Hard laptop sleeve is the perfect gem to keep that MacBook safe from scratches and minor impacts. It's available in three different sizes too. And the print is soooo dreamy. And don't even get me started with the amazing hardcover journals that are available. You can order these in ruled line, graph , or get them blank inside and I love that feature. I went with the Horses In My Dreams print. The artist is from The UK and I just love her eye. I also snagged The Mountain Fog print. It has such a wanderlust winter feel and just speaks to my heart. These are the perfect back to school journals for the kids and the perfect for the working momma too!

I am such a sucker for accessories and Redbubble's scarves are out of this world amazing. The full print is visible on the front and reverse and I love how oversized they are. You can do so much with these! I went with the Empire State Building print and the Witchcraft print.

And of course back to school calls for all the cozy little coffee shop corners for everyone involved. How adorbs are these London pieces??!! Loving the standard London coffee mug and this also comes in a travel mug too if you fancy that better. It's dishwasher safe too. And the London throw pillow comes in various sizes. I just think it's so incredibly fun and really adds the perfect pop to the room. How cute would these be in a dorm room too?! The prints and options are endless.

For every product I mentioned, there are literally thousands of different designs to choose from. At Redbubble, you really can find that perfect something to fit your own totally unique personality.  Don’t forget, when you shop Redbubble, you’re supporting independent artists. That’s one of the things I love most about the site and what drew me to it in the first place. You get a design you love and an artist gets paid. Talk about a "win-win"
