WASHABLE PAPER PRODUCT DESIGNED AND MADE IN ITALY- MEET UASHMAMA
Hello my lovelies! Can you believe January is almost over?! Some days I feel like time moves so slow but lately it is just passing me by. Work has been a bit slow as January usually is and I have not really shared any long form blog posts but I am excited to be kicking things off with an amazing sustainable brand today. I know we could all use some inspiration at the moment so the timing of this post is just perfect!
Curating a conscious home and closet is a thoughtful process involving much consideration — who made the products, how were they made, and what are they made from.
Over the holiday season searching for eco gift wrap solutions, I discovered a beautiful brand called Uashmama. The father, Marco, is the creative mind. He spent a long time building up experience in the footwear business and has significant know how in all that is handcrafted and particularly Made in Italy, but at the same time cultivating an interest in new technology in the sector. UASHMAMA designs and manufactures lifestyle products that balance their respect for nature and design functionality. Uashmama promotes intentional living through eco-sustainable products conceived, designed, and entirely made in Tuscany, Italy.

All of their gorgeous products are made from their own washable paper material, exclusively made of natural fibers. They begin by sourcing raw materials that come from trees cut in a sustainable and controlled manner. They then recondition the raw materials with a unique treatment process, adding natural vegetable waxes and reducing the chemical substances inside the raw material. Once the material has been processed and becomes “AGGO”, they add final touches such as specialized dyeing, finishes, and doubling paper in order to strengthen and style the paper. Then their craftsmen assist the material into the final product by cutting, sewing, and assembling the product its final form.

PLACEMAT ROUND SPEZZATO- The paper placemat is part of their new technical paper paper range, which is both water-proof and stain resistant. Simple yet elegant paper placemats that will suit any table setting, finished with a stitched centre. You can choose from a variety of original colors all though we went with the camel! (I am on a camel kick right now) These are the dimensions…D36 cm // D14 in. The technical paper is super low maintenance so a simple wipe now and again is all it needs! So impressive, right?! I think this last Christmas was finally the one where Rodge and I looked at all the waste and shook our heads and agreed we just cannot keep contributing to that anymore ! You should have seen our condo buildings trash bins just full of wrapping paper. GASP.
