Classic Staples With Elizabeth Suzann
Happy almost Christmas everyone!! It’s the end of the week and I am winding down so that I can enjoy the holiday with my love and dogs next week. I am very much looking forward to unplugging. But before I do that..I have an amazing “Meet The Maker Feature” to share with you today. Slow fashion is something that I took a break from writing about but as we begin a new year-it’s something that is heavily on my mind. How can we buy less? How can we waste less? It’s a conversation that encompasses a number of concerns, from our planet, to our wallets, to our state of mind when searching through our wardrobe for something to wear each morning.
The best way that I can describe my commitment to slow fashion is that I am trying to make it work. I primarily buy classics and I want to keep my clothes and accessories alive for a long time. It’s something I’m constantly pushing myself to improve upon with every piece that I add into my closet.
I had these sentiments in mind when choosing the brand that I wanted to highlight for this story today. The timeless aesthetic initially drew me to them, a quality that both aligns with my own personal style and makes shopping for classic staples so easy!
Meet Elizabeth Suzann’s Signature Collection
I have been living in The Harper Jacket! It’s an amalgamation of many of their favorite patterns, adopting the sleeve from the ever-popular Cocoon Coat, the pockets from the Harper Tunic, a back vent from the side vents on the archived Josephine Tunic, and a collar reminiscent of the Clyde Jacket. Intended to evoke the feeling of a men’s blazer tossed casually over the shoulders. Well-placed darts in the shawl collar urge the lapels to lay open and flat, or overlap in the front for a wrapped-up look with an organic shape and added warmth. The back vent suggests coattails and allows for less restriction and breezy movement as you walk. Two large pockets hold everything and then some. Finally, the slightly lengthened dolman sleeves are soft and loose fitting, and the cuffs hit just at the forearm to show a long sleeve peeking out from underneath. Bare-armed looks just as put-together.
Cut from their classic, sturdy midweight linen. A year-round fabric with weight and substance, but also lightness and movement. Natural imperfections and variation in weave give this material a rich, earthy feel.
It is such a great layering piece and I really love it’s natural movement when you walk!! The Terra color is just so gorgeous too with everything in my closet!!! I have been so obsessed with this color this season. The Harper Jacket is going to be the perfect piece in Barcelona. I love layers but needed something lightweight and breathable.
I am so hooked! I just adore that this jacket was especially for me in the studio. I provided my measurements and the jacket fits so perfectly how I enjoy wearing it-a bit oversized but not just completely drowning me. I love the label inside seeing who sewed my jacket. The details are just everything to me. I feel so incredibly special and cannot wait to add more classic signature pieces into my mix! I love made-to-order!!
