Comfort/ Style/ Environmental With CARIUMA

We can be addicted to many things and the older I get..I become more and more addicted to comfort!! And I don’t mean the comforts of home. Although being able to watch pretty much whatever you want on a laptop from your bed is pretty dang comfortable… I’m talking about sneakers! My stiletto days have become a thing of the past..all though don’t get me wrong I still love them so much but there is a time and place! And lately that right place is sitting looking pretty at an event. LOL! But seriously, it’s true.

I am all about comfy chic sneakers right now! My dogs are barking and I finally listened!

So if you are like me, you want to make a purchase decision that won’t harm the planet or the people that make your shoes, but you don’t want to fork out $300 + big ones, right?!

Well, you’re in luck.

An up-and-coming Brazilian company, CARIUMA believes creating comfy shoes using natural materials. In there own words:

“What we’re doing isn’t special, it’s how it’s supposed to be done.”

Using fair-trade cotton, minimizing water consumption and fair working wages and conditions for all employees. They don’t harm trees, they use natural rubber by tapping into the sap of hevea brasiliensis tree that continues to grow after harvest. CARIUMA even use solar as their primary source of energy. For my vegan friends, CARIUMA do use leather in their products but do not source from deforested land, they adhere to high standards of regulation.

They make sneakers that you can feel good about (and look great in). Their sneakers are handcrafted with premium natural materials, an obsessive eye for detail, and a conscious mind and they care deeply about their craftsmen, and ensure that they earn fair wages and experience safe working conditions. They are committed to improving and evolving their practices so that we can all can do better for the people and for the planet.

CANVAS

Their sneaker’s are made with fair-trade cotton. They care deeply about:

  • Minimizing harmful impact & maximizing efficiency on water consumption

  • Taking care of the health of the soil

  • Responsibly using the land, and enhancing biodiversity

  • Guaranteeing that farmers have fair working conditions and receive fair wages

RUBBER

No trees are harmed in the production of their sneakers! Their raw natural rubber comes from the hevea brasiliensis tree. They safely harvest the natural latex through ethical 'tapping' to remove a milky sap from the bark of the tree. Then, the unharmed trees continue to do what they do best–convert exhaled carbon dioxide into breathable oxygen.

LEATHER

The leather comes from Brazil, Argentina, and Thailand. (No leather is sourced from an area that was deforested for cattle farming.) Their tannery is Gold Rated by the Leather Working Group, and all of the leather is chrome VI free and follow REACH standards.

PACKAGING

All of their signature packaging is made from Recycled and 100% recyclable materials, and their packaging suppliers are Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified.

In partnership with CARIUMA, I picked the OCA Low Black Premium Leather Sneaker! I wanted a lather version for fall. I love these because they are a modern version of your classic black sneaker, designed to take you from work, to happy hour and everything in between, with the comfort and style you long for. Made with full-grain premium pebbled leather, they are soooo soft!!! And they are the most comfortable sneaker I own! Constructed using premium pebbled leather, with CARIUMA’s signature memory foam and leather hybrid insole, the OCA Leather molds to your feet and looks better the more you wear it! The OCA Low Leather boasts a unique cap toe design, debossed metal aglets, low-key CARIUMA branding and a fully-stitched midsole for a durable, long-lasting shoe. They have been glued to my feet!!!

Linking some other styles I really love too! I think I am going to have to splurge on the yellow ones! I have been thinking about them non stop.

I cannot wait to see what you think about these sneakers!!!!!!
