Misc. Closet Organization With Uashmama

Rodge totally has a junk drawer on a grand scale which has turned into what I call a miscellaneous closet or a catchall closet. And in classic junk drawer form, it's notoriously difficult to tidy up, especially when it’s not my clutter to tidy up! (well one little area is my stuff..I must admit)

Rodge is also a classic Cancer who cannot let go of anything. But one day….I just simply could not let this go on any longer. It would just give me so much anxiety and I decided to gift him a new organized catchall closet!

(here is what this catchall closet looked like)

I partnered with my dear friends over at Uashmama to help me with some storage solutions for this project and I am so pleased with the result. I wanted it to look attractive as well as serving a purpose. You might recognize the name Uashmama if you have followed me for a while. I shared them in late January of 2021 when I created a tablescape with their Washable Paper Products. Have a look here!

About UASHMAMA

From concept to finish, their attention to detail is rooted in generations of Italian craftsmanship with a modern sensibility for style. UASHMAMA is family-owned and managed in Tuscany, where each product is created to thoughtfully enhance your daily lifestyle. Their passion is to simplify your life with eco-friendly products that deliver state-of-the-art design and functionality.

Established by Marco Marconi, UASHMAMA is proud to combine his lineage in handcrafting footwear with pioneering methods to reduce their environmental impact. His creative vision led them to develop their signature material, a washable paper that they’ve named “AGGO.” This material meets their top priority in providing products that are both ethical and durable. Plus, it feels and folds like textile for an aesthetic utility that is sleek and fun.

Their approach is sustainable and inspired, at every stage. From the certified organic fibers to the water-saving methods – they employ local artisans from the Tuscan region to deliver the best in quality and longevity.

I love their large PANINO STORAGE TRAYS. They describe them as practical, catchall storage trays with a sleek and simple design that offers a variety of uses; for jewelry, keys, fruits or snacks. Sustainably made with their signature washable paper, it can be cleaned and repurposed time and time again. They come in 7 gorgeous colors but I chose dark grey because that is the color Lin would have picked if he was ordering. I measured everything before hand and knew these would work perfectly for me to tidy up all the various cords, batteries, tools, light bulbs, etc…etc….all the bizarre things men have! LOL.

I also fell in love with their PAPER BAGS in two different sizes in metallic hues. I figured these would be fun to shoot with for my fruits and veggies and flours but for now they serve a purpose in this catchall closet until Lin can take some time and further declutter. Since I surprised him with this I did not want to throw anything away without him going through everything. I am obsessed with the metallics and want to organize my whole pantry in the Santa Fe home ith the Rosato paper bags!

I just love everything Uashmama has and plan to purchase lots from them for the new place when it gets closer to time.

I hope this post inspires you to tidy up an area of your home that has needed it for ages! And I hope you find some storage solutions from Uashmama for your organizational projects. I know you will be very happy with their products and customer service.

Here are a few steps incase it just seems too overwhelming. Trust me..this only took me 10 years! LOL!

Step One: Empty the Closet

There probably are some items in the closet that belong in there, but it will be so much easier to put things away in a nice and organized matter if you start with a completely empty closet. Take everything out.

Step Two: Clean the Closet

Once the closet is completely empty, clean all the surfaces: sweep, vacuum, dust, and wipe down all the shelves.

Step Three: Put Things Away

Now that you have a fresh and clean space with which to work, it’s time to maximize put things away in a neat and orderly manner.

  • Throw out those items that seriously just need to be thrown out, like the apple boxes from computers and phones you do not even own anymore. (oh my goodness….please go easy on us)

  • Put things away that have an actual home elsewhere in the house.

  • Donate or sell items that are still in good condition but are no longer regularly used.

Happy organizing!!! Please tag me in any of your photos and let me know if you find anything from Uashmama!

Oh and be sure to check out their ECO gift wrap solutions too! We used these for some of our Christmas presents this year and they were a huge hit.
