It’s been a tough 12 months y’all. But I have been trying to make sure we are consuming a combination of fresh veggies at every single meal, taking a magnesium supplement and a probiotic, and making sure we get some form of live active probiotics in our diets, too. You can get probiotics from fermented foods like some pickles and olives, sauerkraut, and kimchi and that is why we love Olive My Pickle.

There’s nothing more rejuvenating than hitting the pause button on the day’s to-do list to spend an hour with my sweetie eating great food and sipping a bit of wine. Lately our lunch “hour” has been turning into four though with this snowy winter weather! This leek tart is such a perfect light-yet-satisfying meal!
This recipe is from Sylvie with A Baking Journey Blog all though I have made it several times and made a few revisions for my taste!

It was the perfect weather to make some homemade bread and a delicious soup and this one is just like a good friend or a warm hug; she’s always there for me when I need her and makes me feel infinitely better about life. HA! This recipe is one from Half Baked Harvest but I switched up a few things! I prefer french onion soup with beef broth and less cream and less cheese and do not use as many mushrooms as her as they tend to be very overpowering and I want my french onion soup to taste like onions and not mushrooms! LOL!

So what is a French Apéro?!
Short for l’apértif, l’apéro is a quintessentially French activity. L’apéro is the part of the day when the French stop doing what they’re doing and convene for a drink over small plates. It’s around the time of day when shadows get longer and the sun starts to set. It’s after work, it’s before dinner, before a party, before a dinner party — sometimes it is the dinner party (un apéro dinatoire).
