This Pupcake recipe is for all of my friends out there who treat their dogs like their children. My two sweet boys love healthy pupcakes so much! (scroll down for recipe)And luckily with all the time I have had at home these past few months I have been baking some wonderful treats for my dogs. However I still love having store bought healthy dog treats in the house- not only because I love spoiling my pups but because they come in handy for so many various things! (keeping them occupied during my at home zoom meetings, training them to be pro walkers on the leash especially now that the river trails are getting so packed with cyclists, and just giving them a little special treat to let them know how much I love them) I will do anything to see those sweet wagging tails! My knowledge of dog health and nutrition is vast and I believe that all dogs deserve healthier and better tasting snacks!
Read MoreWould you agree that sleep is a number one priority in life?!
The older I get 8 to 9 hours of sleep a night is simply not negotiable. Without sleep, nothing else works. Without sleep, you lose your sanity and health..plus possible weight gain too! (LIFE CAN BE SO CRUEL)
SO many things contribute to good sleep! I personally need the room to be quiet, cold, and dark! A nice mattress and soft breathable linens are a huge factor in good sleep too!
Lin and I have been sleeping on an organic mattress for the last 7 years but realized that our purchase was not the best. We were so excited to be making a “green” purchase too because had done our research! Did you know chemical gasses released by some mattresses can take years to dissipate? YEARS!!!!! Mattresses seriously pollute the environment! But all that to say the mattress we purchased was way too soft and luxe and I have no idea why we waited so long to fix this situation that was affecting our sleep…(even sleeping in the guest room) .
Two months ago we partnered with Avocado Green Mattresses! The Avocado mattress is an eco-friendly and non toxic mattress that is absurdly comfortable, attractive, annnndddd we are getting ZZZZZ’s again! Seriously I just cannot believe we waited so long to do this…..!!!

Their grooming products also have dedicated shelf space in the bathroom too! No matter how much you clean up after them, their stuff will always be dotted around your house. And, if you have to look at this stuff all the time, it might as well be aesthetically pleasing, right?
I discovered Molly Barker and am so excited to share them with you today! I was so attracted to their modern design principles that compliment modern home design trends.

Read MoreSo lately we have been buying Henry and Melvin’s kibble in bulk to save some money and avoid unnecessary trips to the store. Tulsa is under a #SaferAtHome order to help not spread Covid 19 so we really only allowed to go to the store once a week but we are taking things even more seriously and are only going to the store once every two weeks. Our dogs go through one bag of food a week so just recently I went ahead and purchased 4 bags of dog food. We needed a proper way to store the food so it doesn’t go stale or get broken into by our little mischievous pets! (oh boy do I have a story for you for a later time)
So we are thrilled to partner with Vittles Vault! We have the Vittles Vault Outback Stackable Food Storage Container and are here to tell you all about all the amazing features and why we love it!!

Read MoreSharing a short sweet post today mostly because the pics are so cute of Melvin and Henry!!!!!!
And because I know you will ask- they are wearing the hand-knit curly knit jumpers from Max-Bone ! Mel + Hen love the turtleneck to keep them warm and the playful looped yarns have lots of movement when they strut! Ha!
I've been interested in getting GPS collars for Melvin + Henry for quite some time now. Yes, they are almost always leashed, but I still worry about what would happen if boys somehow got away from me while we were walking. They both have a bit of Houdini tendencies! While hugely improved after the extensive training they had in Colorado…they still do not have a reliable recall. And of course with me being overly anxious about them I often think about every horrible scenario that could happen. What if we had a car wreck and they got scared and ran from the scene? What if I fall on a walk and twist my ankle and they both get away from me? What if someone steals them from my car? What if aliens come down and abduct them while we are sleeping?! LOL! But seriously!! I worry about these kinds of things constantly.

If you haven’t heard of An Affair Of The Heart, it’s a truly unique event that happens several times a year in Oklahoma and a few surrounding areas. And if you have been following me for a while, I featured some amazing gift items in a holiday gift guide for you to discover at the show in this post and also this post. An Affair Of The Heart brings together the creators of the world who have an especially strong sense of community, creativity, and soul, and all of the exhibitors I got to talk to were incredibly friendly and talented. While I was there I spotted some amazing entrepreneurs that I thought I’d share with you today of course with some emphasis on some of the vendors I have already included-but really tried to showcase new ones that I discovered! (thanks for the suggestions on that) I hope you enjoy the pics from the event too as well as pics from the blogger event I co-hosted with Lisa and Kristin! I feel confident your other favorite Tulsa bloggers will be working with An Affair Of The Heart in 2020 too! (Thank you so much to Jenna for helping me with photos this year as I was taking so much video content for Insta Stories which you can find on my hi-lights ! There is quite a bit of my photography included too though…#teamwork)
Read MoreNo matter how much we love our homes, animal lovers realize that some concessions have to be made for our pets. Dogs need things to lay on and things to chew almost as much as they need things to bark at incessantly for no reason. Unfortunately, they’re not often quite as good as children at putting their toys away, so most dog owners are used to having random toys scattered hither and dither around the house. To take away some of the sting of disorder, check out some of these aesthetically pleasing chew toys that we were gifted from Waggo.
Waggo makes designer chew and rope toys for dogs that are unique, durable and fun! Available in so many different shapes, sizes and colors our chew toys are sure to make your dog happy. They make the best dog toys and rubber dog toys!
Read MoreI always love the days I write about my two furry best friends, Melvin + Henry. They are my whole heart!!
And today we are thrilled to celebrate a very important special day….NATIONAL MAKE A DOG’S DAY. National Make A Dog’s Day today on October 22nd provides an opportunity to give all dogs the best day of their lives. The day not only encourages visits to shelters, but it is also a reminder to animal lovers everywhere to adopt instead of shop for a new furry best friend. Approximately 3.3 million dogs enter shelters in the United States annually, many being relinquished by their owners. Worse still, approximately 35% of the animals that enter shelters are euthanized. While numbers continue to decline, the need for adoption continues to be overwhelming. One sure way to make a dog’s day is giving them a new, loving home through adoption. So…Melvin and Henry have have finished two weeks of food from The Farmer’s Dog and we are here sharing our honest review!
Read MoreReady or not holiday shopping is here! Even if you are not quite ready to even start until after Halloween, it’s definitely time to start planning and making a rough draft of your shopping list at least. If you’re anything like me, you’ve got quite a long list of ladies (and gentleman) to shop for and the idea of finding the perfect present for all of your family and friends can be a little bit overwhelming. So today, I am here to help you get your gifting done all in one place.
Read MoreIn early November, Lin and I spent 7 days traveling The Maine Coast which you can read all about here. On day 6 we met the beautiful Cape Liz for the first time and ya’ll….this special place has just stolen a piece of my heart. It's natural beauty at its best!
Cape Liz is stunning. We spent some time exploring the area’s most picturesque lighthouses and their picturesque surroundings in the freezing cold rain! We began at Two Lights State Park (free admission), where Maine’s first "twin" lighthouses were erected on the rocky shore in 1928. (The scenery inspired Edward Hopper’s painting Lighthouse at Two Lights.) Then we made our way to Fort Williams Park next and climb into the tower of Maine’s oldest lighthouse, Portland Head Light. Just see for yourself…..
Read MoreHappy Almost Thanksgiving everyone! I cannot believe this is only my second blog post to publish this month but in my defense, I left town November 1st for 2 weeks traveling the Maine coast and had a huge event I worked as soon as I returned! Now I am in Houston getting settled for the holiday and have some free time to get lots of things published for you!
Just in case you have not been watching all of my insta stories, right before we left we had a little birthday party for Melvin. The party needed to be during the week midday which was not the ideal time for many of my friends with dogs whom Melvin loves and I could not host anything at my house because we had a window installation happening. Our local dog park was not ideal either because you cannot bring any perishable items. So my friend Brooke had the perfect solution to my problem!
We both board our dogs at Noah’s Bed and Biscuit in Kiefer and when we talked to them about hosting a little “puppy pawty” ! They have plenty of fenced-in yard options! And plenty of doggy companions who can attend!
Problem solved!

And that is why I have partnered with An Affair of The Heart Tulsa and their vendors this year! They do so many great shows all year long (I attended the summer July show and just loved the concept) and I am so excited for this November show November 16th-18th in Tulsa! This event is on trend and so chic! Not only is this the place to find unique gifts but An Affair of The Heart is just the best weekend to get together with your family and/or best girlfriends and spend some time together shopping and doing something off the beaten path.
