When you have pups, their toys, bowls, beds, and other detritus, become part of your decor, whether you like it or not. Their grooming products also have dedicated shelf space in the bathroom too! No matter how much you clean up after them, their stuff will always be dotted around your house. I've been interested in getting GPS collars for Melvin + Henry for quite some time now. Yes, they are almost always leashed, but I still worry about what would happen if boys somehow got away from me while we were walking. They both have a bit of Houdini tendencies! While hugely improved after the extensive training they had in Colorado…they still do not have a reliable recall. And of course with me being overly anxious about them I often think about every horrible scenario that could happen. What if we had a car wreck and they got scared and ran from the scene? What if I fall on a walk and twist my ankle and they both get away from me? What if someone steals them from my car? What if aliens come down and abduct them while we are sleeping?! LOL! But seriously!! I worry about these kinds of things constantly.

No matter how much we love our homes, animal lovers realize that some concessions have to be made for our pets. Dogs need things to lay on and things to chew almost as much as they need things to bark at incessantly for no reason. Unfortunately, they’re not often quite as good as children at putting their toys away, so most dog owners are used to having random toys scattered hither and dither around the house. National Make A Dog’s Day today on October 22nd provides an opportunity to give all dogs the best day of their lives. The day not only encourages visits to shelters, but it is also a reminder to animal lovers everywhere to adopt instead of shop for a new furry best friend. Approximately 3.3 million dogs enter shelters in the United States annually, many being relinquished by their owners. Worse still, approximately 35% of the animals that enter shelters are euthanized. While numbers continue to decline, the need for adoption continues to be overwhelming. One sure way to make a dog’s day is giving them a new, loving home through adoption. So…Melvin and Henry have have finished two weeks of food from The Farmer’s Dog and we are here sharing our honest review!
